Allegations by GTL
Recently, Securus Technologies corrected misleading information put forth by the well-known Global Tel Link (GTL) concerning its patents. According to the press release, GTL alleged that the Texas Federal Court allowed them to seek damages and injunctions for Patent Trials and Appeals Board (PTAB) validation through their patents. Later on, Securus made it clear that PTAB is not in a position to validate the 816 patent because the case is currently stayed. In the same press release, GTL insisted that Secures Technologies is not granted the right to take charge of video monitoring visitations following the infringement of patents.
However, this is not the case. Throughout its history, Securus Technologies has made efforts to reach mutually acceptable and intelligent agreements and financial arrangements with firms that use its patented technologies without license. Most of the claims by GTL on its press release are false unfounded.
